2002 Avalon - Vapor Lock Problem

If my Avalon sits for a couple/several hours, it will turn over, start for 1 second and then die. The only way to 'revive' it is to unscrew the gas gap, screw back on, and start 3-4 times before it will run continously again. After that, no problem driving or stopping; keeps running fine.

Check engine light is now ON

Wanted to get opinion as to likely root cause. Digging around google:
1. Idle speed control valve?
2. other?
