Exclamation JBL CD Player Error 1

Hi All,

I have a 2000 Toyota Avalon XLS with a 3-Disc In dash JBL CD Player.
It had a problem of not playing the CDs and just ejecting them. Then it'll display Error 1. So according to this source I disconnected the battery for 10 minutes and it started working. But after about 2-3 days it stopped working again. I tried the same solution again (disconnecting the battery or 10 min) and it didn't work. So I tried removing the CD fuse for 10 mins and still it won't work.

1) Can someone tell me what the problem is and any possible solutions?
2) A new unit would cost around $200, so I would rather not buy one. But I so some cool aftermarket CD players (with SD card slots) for less than $100. But the only problem I have is where would it fit. Because current CD player is about 6 inches tall and these after market ones are about 3 inches. So if I added a aftermarket one I think my dashboard would look really ugly. Any suggetions on that?

P.S.: I'm not very perticular about the sound quality. The quality of sound from my JBL stock player is more than enough for me.

Thanks in advance :-)
