Anyway, my cruise will set pretty much where I want it. Check your owners manual for details, but IIRC, once you drop 10 mph below your set speed, you have to reset your cruise all over again. I HATE that.
Another thing I don't like is that I have no indicator that shows if my cruise is on/set. Just the dummy light that shows that it has been turned on and it may or may not be set. Highlander is the same way. My GM pickup does it right.
TrailDust, did you ever figure out your problem?

Nope, it's still the same way and the dealer never had a solution. One of those...

...this is how it is and you'll have to live with it things.
I've noticed by years of use now that if my speed is increasing ever so slightly when I set the cruise control, like say I'm slowly passing 70 MPH then the cruise control will set about 72 MPH. If I'm slowing down it does the same but sets a slower speed. And if I'm sitting there, trying like hell to maintain as steady and perfect a speed as possible, the damn thing will invariably set at least 1 MPH above or below that speed and virtually never on my actual/desired speed.

My Highlander sets right on the money. If only I could take the physical buttons from my Avalon and match them with the performance of my Highlander's cruise control, I'd have the perfect setup. If only.
