Price Reference for '04 Avalon XLS

Toyota Camry owner going out shopping for a used Toyota. Considering Camry model again, but also the Avalon.

The dealer I am going to has a hand full of different Toyota models but an Avalon they have caught my eye.

'04 Toyota Avalon XLS - 44k Miles - Excellent Condition

Asking around $12,000.00 from the dealership.

Thought that price seemed pretty decent, but just was curious if anyone had feedback.

Plan to test drive at the very least.

Opinions on moving up from Camry to Avalon???

How does the Avalon fair in comparison to the 02-05 Camry on gas? Same engine type as my '02 6cyl Camry from what I saw referenced, but with different body, weight distribution... etc... just curious. Please feel free to correct me if I am mistaken.

Feedback appreciated.

BAS

price sounds good for an 04 with low miles. mileage should be real close to the camry v6. what you'll notice is a smoother ride, much more room inside...especially in the back seat. avalon should be a little quieter on the road, overall just more refined. i don't think you'll be disappointed. see what the test drive shows.

Thanks.

It seemed like a good price to me as well.

I'm heading out today to give her a run.

I'll keep you posted.

Wish me luck.

Test drove the Avalon and it was a great ride. Test drove a Corolla after from the same dealer just to take a look at other vehicles. When I came back to the lot I told the dealer that I liked the Avalon better.

Dealer says, "I just sold it actually. Guy from Colorado. He's wiring the money to me now. Didn't even come to see it. Never sold one like that before..."

I got pretty pissed and nearly walked off the lot.

Calmed down and test drove 4-5 more vehicles. Settled on an 07 Honda Accord SE 6Cyl. Though I think the Avalon was a great deal, I think the Accord should do me well...

That's the story...

Thanks,

BAS
