Remote Starter Install

Can anyone tell me how difficult it is to install an aftermarket remoter starter/alarm system on a 00 Avy? I was in Circuit City and I see they are marked down to about 50 bucks. It is tempting but I'm wondering how hard of a DIY it is.

wow...that's real hard to say. to do it right, i think it can be difficult, and the last thing you want to do is mess up anything that starts your car. or the original features. i had a viper unit installed by the pros a couple of years ago, and it has been great. all of the oem theft features are retained, and viper adds a few more like starter motor dis-able. the unit works from long distance, and you dont have to shut it off to open the car and get in and go like oem systems. and...all the original fobs still work too if you want. system cost about 300 installed,and i'm still loving it and it was worth every cent.
