Hi all,
Geeeesh it seems ive posted on every site so far, this is the last one so i hope i get a response.
I bought a 2000 avalon xls mint. Now when i bought it ,it had a creeking sound coming from the front end. this would happen only when i would accelerate after coming to a full stop, kinda sounds like an old floor board being stepped on. I brought it in for the problem to be fixed. They changed what they called the sway bar link and corresponding on both sides in the front. I picked it up seemed to be quiet. when i got home she started making the sound again, but only after a stop and go. Kinda as if she need time to warm up before the sound was more pronounced. I was wondering as she has to go back, could it be bushings, struts, or something else. I dont want to go back with them thinking im just another female who has noclue I want to be totally ready for them.
desperate to have my baby running sound free.
thank you ----- bliee5

I think all it would need is for them to tighten it again, and put some goo on it...its like a lubricant that goes under the bolt.....I'd take it back to the dealership, since your problem wasn't solved! (in regard to them thinking your a dumb blonde....novice female is better than one that didn't even know this would have been a problem!!). Good Luck!
Thank you for your reply.
she will go back yet this will be her 3rd time. I'm like an over protective mother with my new addition. I will go and say I need the goo <fit the dumb blonde roll LOL( lubrication) I hope it works... I in return gave up my 89 camry which was 4 wheel drive we loved alot and hurt to let go. I also own a sienna 2003
I just love my toyota's reliable and durable cars!!!
thank again

Hi again,
My Sienna is the 2003 metalic symphony. Yes we bought it brand new in 2002. it actually was the 3rd 2003 coming in No I dont have a DvD in mine only cause this one we lease.(my kids have a portable one they use) This will be my 2nd lease, as we leased the 2000 sienna before this one. I am hoping to get the 2004 when my lease is up. Knowing we just bought the avalon $$$$$ wise who knows if i can afford it :0(.
after owning other cars (used) we vowed never to buy another used vechicle again. when we saw the 2000 avalon <-was a lease, it was just a beauty. its red with bone leather throught out as pretty as ever. funny when u look at it u cant tell if its a merchedies(sp) , bmw, or a volvo.
I wish your aunt loads of smooth safe traveling in her new toy!
I wish you safe driving as well.
thank you for everything...
kim(bliee)
p.s she will be going back i hope monday i'll let you know the outcome :0)
Always have the tech's come with you for a short drive before you give them you car. Tell them, if you sit in with me, maybe you can diagnose the problem that i hear...that you guys beg to differ...Usually that gives you one-to-one time with the tech, and you can tell him that this will be the third time this happened..and the dude will take note that and see if there's anything he/she can do extra...or something others missed. (taking a tech with you for has worked with me on my celica...)
I actually enjoy driving it. I'm not used to being low as the van keeps u higher. Im sure we will get many many yrs out of it as we did our 89 4x4 camry < :0( miss her already..
hubby usually just drives to an from train with the car so im sure its going to last a life time :0)
the funny thing JHB is that i had the head tech guy do the drive with me in the lot he heard it and said he would take care of it. Thats why i think sometimes they feel they can take advantage of a woman when it comes to cars. Im sure he did do the right by replacing the sway bar and so on i believe the bushings as well. Now i called NOT A HAPPY PERSON and requested to speak to a manager. i explained the entire issue im having with the creeking and he told me that he will test drive it with me as I said after calling several times and talking to u 1'x before, why havent you dont that already. I think i tounge tide him LOL.
anyway Im not as dumb as they might think i am when it comes to my cars. see I found this sight didnt I LOL.
thanks to all those who reply'd with info for me i have all the smarts now ... lol
thank you again kim :0)
soon all smiles
we should be going I hope the latest wed. I still havent given them the full amount for the car. I told them once my keys and remotes r programed and my creeking issue is resolved then they will get the rest of the cash.. im no dummy LOL
I hope this time though all goes well as I dont want to have to give back knowing its going to be an on going issue. I would luv for her to sound as smooth as she drives :0)... I have no prob buyin a 2004 camry But when u get the taste of honey u never forget it... to me the avalon is the merchadies(sp) of toyotas and thats how she will be treated :0)
and especially in my favorite color too, RED!!!!!
ill let you know the entire ordeal :0)
kim
