Gear Oil????

Is there a write-up on how I can change the gear oil on my dads 01 Avalon. The tranny is acting up and I've already changed the tranny gluid, so next in line is the gear-oil. Any idea's? The car has about 176k miles.

Well, it is now very un-responsive. It would take off slowly and it would feel as a manual car was let off the clutch too early (little jerkishly). When I floor it, the rpms fluctuate a lot. Its either that the tranny is givin out, or I just need to replace some fluid. Thx

Well one thing I have found out so far is that they did physically change the design in the transmission. The part number is now different then from the original. Is there a specific gear it is in when this happens? Would you say it's a shutter or a slip? Does the engine bog down when you try to go forward? Do these symptoms happen in reverse? Sorry for all the questions I am on the Toyota employee technical website.

Its in Every gear and its more of a shutter. I'm not sure if it happens in reverse, and didn't notice the engine bog either.
