Heated or non heated mirror?

I have a 2002 Avalon XL... been great for 7 years, but cracked the drivers outside mirror housing backing into garage the other day. Fiberglass housing is cracked and un-repairable, so I need a new mirror.

I lived in Florida for 6 years and never had ice/snow so I never even knew about heated outside mirrors. How can I tell if my mirror is heated or non heated so I can find a suitable replacement. I see nothing in the owners manual.

I removed the mirror by the 3 screws holing it on,...I undid the wires from the plug on the back of the mirror and left the door side panel intact so I would not have to mess with the side panel. I want to get a replacment from a used car parts but unsure if it is heated or not. I know it is not a memory mirror, just electric.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

On the control panel where your radio is, there is a button for the rear window defroster. Does it have a symbol that also looks like a mirror on that same button? If so, the car has heated mirrors, if not, it is just for the rear defroster.

Maybe there is another way to help, but that is what comes to mind, and what mine has for sure.

If you have 4 wires on the harness then you have heat. 3 wires would mean just electric. Hope this helped

Thanks!

Thank you both for your fast response... i have no extra button and there is only three wires leading to the mirror so I will try and find a non heated, non memory mirror replacement . I appreciate both answers as I am more confident ordering a replacement mirror ovet the internet from a salvage yard as I am trying to match the replacement mirror with the color code on the door.

Now all I gotta do is figure out how to successfully get the door panel off, but I will seach this forum... surley I am not the only guy who has run into thei challenge.

thanks again! bob
