2000 avalon- please help the new guy!

I'm new to this forum and I was hoping to get some help/advice on my Avalon. I just inherited a 2000 Avalon with 107,000 miles on it from my mom, who has recently passed away. Anything I should look for as far as any problem areas with this car?

Also, any way to perhaps add a AUX jack to plug in an Ipod without having to replace the head unit?
Thanks in advance for your help help!

Tony

Congrats. Change the oil often! Don't put it off. Have someone check for sludge (gelling) if you suspect the past oil change frequency. This is the big thing to be aware of.

Other than that read up on the 90K mile timing belt change, the struts and strut mount noises and subwoofer buzz. All of these have been discussed ad nauseum in this forum.

Enjoy the car, they're pretty friggin sweet. (I have a black 2000 as well.)

Also, no dice on the aux input. Use a tape adapter or FM modulator if you'd prefer an easy fix.

If you are willing to spend a little cash (at least $100) you can get a new stereo from a place like crutchfield.com . They have faceplates that are compatible with Avalon.
