2002 Avalon 91k When should I do tming belt

Hello everyone. I have 2002 avalon with 91k - when should I replace the timing belt as preventive mainteance. Car is runing great after replacing 3 sensors.
I love the Avalon and want it to last as long as I see some other toyotas run!

I'd say do it at 3:30 pm on March 24th.

Just kidding. It should be done soon. Can you have a look at the condition of the belt now?

If it doesn't stress you out to go longer than the specified lifespan (90K miles), you could wait until 100K or 105K. Otherwise, get it done now.

Ditto, do it now. Check the maintenance schedule in your owner's manual for the recommended replacement mileage, but it should probably be 90,000. I've only got 45,000 on my 2002 so I haven't checked the book yet myself.

Hey Traildust,

I heard that Toyota changed the spec to be 90K miles or 8 years, whatever comes first. You might want to check what your dealer shop can tell you.

We had the Timing belt, Water pump, v-belt, Serp Belt replaced and Oil change at 97,500 mile by the Stealership for $775 Out the door. Not a bad price considering...

What the heck!!! TrailDust, how often do you drive your Avalon? I got over 213,000 miles on my 2001.

I had mine done around 90K miles. I would rather do it ahead of time rather than being forced to later when you don't have time. Otherwise if you have a spare car then wait till it snaps :P.. just kidding.

She's always been a bit of a garage queen, but especially since I got the Highlander that's totally true. Still, I try to take it on my bi-monthly runs down to Pendleton and back, about 90 miles round trip.
