Turn SIgnal Flasher Location

Does anyone know where the turn signal flasher is located on a 2000 Avalon.
I can hear it somwhere on the left side under the dash but cannot see it.
Got plenty of light under the dash and my face jammed under there and can't find it.
Thanks

You da man gramps!

The flasher is indeed located above the parking brake.

The parking brake needs to be unbolted from the body.
3 nuts on studs hold it on. Top one is impossible to see and
must be done by feel. Hard to move away when unbolted.
The flasher is also very hard to pull out of the socket-
hard to grab while laying all twisted half out of the car.

The moron that designed the location for this should be strung up by the
nards.

To add insult to injury the dealer wanted $66 for the flasher- "it's genuine Toyota".
Went to A.Z. $10.
