2001 Avalon Issues

Please I need suggestion on these issues :

1. How can I replace my master key and the remote keys. I have been using only the spare key to drive without having access to the security features or program mes. There is a number plate attached to the spare.

2. Cannot see any sticker to show that the timing belt has been changed (106000+ mls). Is there any other way to check if it has bn done ?

3. The weather here in Africa is averagely 39 degrees hot during the day and the radiator fans are always coming up. Should I do something else to make the engine colder ? Does the engine enjoy the heat here ?

Cheers and best regards

The number tag on your spare key is the serial code for the original keys. New keys can be ordered from Toyota using this tag number.

If there is no sticker for timing belt change, likely it has not been done. The only proper way to check the condition of the belt, water pump and belt idler pulleys is to remove the plastic cover on the side of the engine and inspect the components visually.

Check your engine coolant for cleanliness. If it is not clean looking then it should be flushed and filled with new coolant of compatible type. If your cooling fans are cycling often, but your engine temperature gauge stays in the normal zone, and it doesn't over heat, then it should be considered normal. It just means that the fans are doing their job properly and keeping your engine cool enough. Your engine should be fine as long as it doesn't over heat (boil over).
