Question Coolant Drain on 2000 avy xls?

I need to change my upper radiator hose. What is the best way to drain a little coolant from the engine? I don't see a valve on the bottom of the radiator, but I really can't see too much because of the fans and splash pan under the car block my view. Do I need to remove the splash pan to find the drain valve, or is there an easier way to do this? I'd just pull the hose from the top, but I don't want to risk getting coolant into the alternator and ruining it.

Thanks everyone.

Remove the splash guard. There a plastic drain valve on the radiator.

I want to drain and refill my coolant. How much of the systems coolant can be drained just from the drain valve on the radiator?

What other points should I drain from to get most of the coolant out?

After i refill the system, Is ther a bleeder screw for air or should i just let it escape out of the filler neck as the system heats up?
