Canada 2000 Avalon XLS - USB option for stereo?

Hell0 all -

I'm new to this forum and just became the owner of a 2000 Avalon. I pulled my stereo deck from my old car, this deck has a USB port for my flash drive. Obviously the factory Avalon JBL system does not have a USB port for me to plug in a flash drive to play music. My last option is to replace the factory stereo in my avalon (seems pretty tedious of a task) so I was wondering if there's a USB converter that I Can use so I don't have to burn massive amounts of CDs to listen to my music library.

Any thoughts? Is there a converter out there? I've googled like mad but can't find anything.

Thanks!

The only real option without replacing your stock deck is a tape insert like this one...
Amazon Amazon
which of course just plugs into your ipod or mp3 player. The other option is to use a FM converter like this one...
Amazon Amazon

Other than those two options I think you are out of luck.

I had the JBL system with 6 disc changer and replaced it after the changer went bad on two different units. Places a Kenwood DNX-9120. The radio was expensive but my system is to die for with it's iPod connection, USB, Navigation, DVD, Bluetooth, HD radio and everything else you cound want. Replaced the speakers also and even put in 6x9's.

Definitely worth thinking about a decent custom installation.

The Grom USB/iPod Car Interface Adapter will provide you with a USB capability. It sells for about $125. Just Google it. I'm getting ready to install this on my NEW Toyota Tacoma.

Yes, it was a SUPER easy install. I'm slow and it took me about 30 minutes. I ran the cables to the glove box and I leave the ipod in there. I'm not using the USB port right now, just the ipod port. The steering wheel controls work great. Overall, the unit is a little pricy, the install is easy, and it works flawlessly. Get it. You'll love it.

Hi there, did you end up buying the GROM?
I found a company, gtacarkits that sell similar product with Apple inputs and mp3 player.

Let me know which product you tried and if installation was hard.

Thanks
Von
