Rear clunking noises?

When i drive over a little or big bump on the road. i hear this annoying clunking noises. I believe it from the rear suspension/strut. Its sooooooo annoying sitting in the rear seats hearing that noise.

I looked at the sway bar bushing earlier but it looked fine and normal. can someone post a bad and good bushing? and how do I change bushings?

Do you guy experience this? do you know what causing the noise? and how do i fix it?

Thanks!

and car has 120,XXX mileage, (the car is my avatar) and it never had any accidents. so im guessing its a wear and tear thing. but how do i fix it?

I paid a shop to do this.

I paid my tire guy $65 to change the bushings while he was rotating the tires. It cleard the thumping noise right up.

You cannot tell if the sway bar bushings are worn by looking at them. At least I couldn't.

Either replace them or I just took an old bicycle innertube and did one wrap around the sway bar, then reinstalled the bushing (this was a little difficult jaming it all in)

I just did this about 3 weeks ago and it's working good. Plus hopefully lasts a little longer than the new one's I put in.

The bushing job is an 'easy' DIY type job, in theory. A ratcheting box wrench is almost required though. The bolts can be stuck and kind of are an pain in the rear to deal with.

Rear bushings are a half hour job, with most of the time spent lifting the car and R&Ring the wheels to get access. Nothing more than a ratchet wrench needed, though an air ratchet makes it faster.
