Trunk Release Switch Next on Dash Next to Stearing Wheel Not Working :(

trunk relase switch next to stearing wheel not working. Just stopped one day @ around 80k miles. Is this a fuse I can easily replaced? It's a pain b/c every time I need to open the trunk i need to use the keyless entry and to do that I need to turn off the engine. SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help please If it is a fuse can i "borrow" one from a not so important one?

Make sure that you have not accidently turned off the trunk release with the "valet" switch in the glove box!! Reason I know is that I did this and hunted the problem for a couple of days before the light bulb went on in my brain.

Either that or

you need to unattach the battery, wait a few minutes, then reattach it. I had the same problem, as well as the door unlock switch not working. Then today my battery went dead, and when I got a new battery, both worked fine. Saved me a lot because I'll bet the dealer would have ripped me off. I think you need to unattach the negative cable, but am not sure. I believe it says so in the manual under reseting the computer.

That's what my money is on. Went without mine for several months before I even knew there was a switch there. Doh!
