Canada '00 Avalon XLS - no Error code on CD display

Hi all -

Wondering if anyone else has had the same problem I have: I insert a CD into the 6-disc changer, receive no error codes, the display simply says "CDx", and after about 15 seconds the CD automatically ejects.

I've tried blasting it out with compressed air, no change. Disconnected negative battery terminal for 15 minutes, no change. What annoys me is there is no "Err" code, it simply spits the CD out.

Anyone see this before? Short of ripping the dash apart or buying a refurb does anyone have any other tips?

Thanks!

It sounds to me like you CD is shot. You can either have your dealer try to order you an out of warranty exchange unit, or you may have to have your removed and sent in for repair. Without looking at your car I am going to take a stab at about $325.00 exchange if possible. The manufacture has roughly a 7 year mark for exchange, but you may get lucky. I'd have the dealer check for you.

Are you using a copied CDx or the original CD? If it's a copied CD, try a different one.
