Steering Wheel Cover

Okay Y'all,
Here's the next in a long line of minor issues. My daughters 2001 leather steering wheel and shift knob look awful. Has anyone had any luck restoring either or both pieces? What about a decent steering wheel cover (the wrap or lace up type, not the slip on)? Any other thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

I put a "wheelskins" wrap on my 2000 XL, and ten years later it still has grip and looks good except the lace is fraying at the end. However the steering wheel did not come with leather. I cannot say how a wheelskin wrap would fit over the old XLS leather. Wheelskins do come in different sizes though. I'd ask them for their opinion on if or how to remove the old wrap.

I would also be interested in information regarding the restoration of the knob.

(I have a slip-on cover, I wasn't aware there was a wrap/laceup kind. o_o)

I installed a Wheelskin leather cover over a leather wrapped SW on my daughter's 99 XL a couple of weeks ago. It's an easy to install, good looking, good feeling product.

I recommend it.
