Well the CCFl angel eyes went around the projector so it was right around 6.5 inches for each headlight. Im not sure how you would do it without the projectors because the avalong housings are not rounded like bmws which have the angel eyes.

KoG- here goes a link showing how to retorfit some projectors in the housings....this is the easiest way, the projectors just screw right into your housing without having to cut away anything. http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?33923-How-to-Morimoto-Mini-H1-Bi-xenon-Projector-Retrofit

Massiveian:

Does the reflective chrome surfacing in light housing cause ugly splash on the road in front of you? I'm no pro with HIDs, I just figured the splashed refraction would be ugly.

nope there is no refraction on the road. the reflective housing does cause some glare to the side but nothing on the road.

Neat, but!

I take a particular highway that state police are ALWAYS parked. I don't want to piss one off by blinding them. They don't like that, I think. Would my best bet be to make a shroud? Or could I do some sort of cutoff for the horizontal shining?

Or is it really low, or not bright? I'm not sure what you mean by glare.
