ABS, VSC and VSC off lights on my 2000 Avalon

I have crossed 115000 miles on my 2000 Avy and have recently had the ABS, VSC and VSC off lights turn on when I start my car . However, the lights go off when I turn off the car and turn it on again. This has happened about 4 times in the past 10 days.
Any clues whether this is a sign for some major trouble in the future ? I did have all the 4 rotors and pads replaced 1000 miles ago. Haven't really checked out if any codes are returned. I've read on the forum that this is somehow related to the steering position sensor and also know that there is currently a recall for some steering part related issue for this generation Avalons. I'm yet to receive a recall notice appointment for my car though.
Did anyone else on this forum have seen similar issues ?

bumping up the thread

Update : Just crossed 118000 miles and also got the steering column bracket replaced under warranty recall. The ABS light comes off quite regularly now, however, i have to just kill the ignition and turn it on again to make it disappear.

Any clue guys what could be wrong ?

I'm bettin' the VSC steering angle sensor needs calibration or replaced. Must be checked out to be sure. No CEL with it is there?

No CEL just its just the ABS light. Any idea how much would it roughly cost to replace ?

I had similar issues with a Nissan, it was a dirty wheel sensor.

I am not sure with the Avalon, but with the Nissan it was just a matter of following the wire to the wheel. I had to pull the rotor off to get to the sensor. A simple 1 bolt held it in and I just took them all out and cleaned them and put them back in, not a big job.

Something else that sounds crazy, but low on brake fluid and cause a lot of mysterious things to happen with idiot lights also.

When you start the car the ABS and VSC lights should turn on for a few seconds and then turn off. If the VSC stays on then check the VSC button by your right knee on the front panel and make sure it is on.
If the ABS light stays on was this after the rotor and brake pad change. What are your current warning light indications?
