AOH steering recall results in vsc/vsc off

After my AOH steering recall work was completed the VSC and VSC OFF lights are lit and the VSC no longer works. The service manager states that the recall work did nothing to make that problem happen. I do not know what was taken apart but I believe there is a steering column position sensor in the VSC system. I read that zero point callibration of the VCS sensors is needed after steering related repairs. It seems strange that those lights are very visable and would have been seen by the mechanic when he did the work. My wife made one stop on the way home and noticed the VSC lights. Check Engine light is also on but that has been on for a year. Does anyone know if there may be a reason why the recall work would affect this system.
