2000 toyota, white smoke, maybe tranny fluid

2000 Toyota avalon. On morning start UPS, I have smoke coming from the backside of the engine. And it was a colder morning (in the 40's) but seemed like white smoke coming from the exhaust. This morning I checked the transmission fluid and it was super low. Almost didn't show on the dipstick. And a small amount of white smoke coming from the dipstick tube. The car seems to be shifting fine. And the smoke from the back engine clears up after a bit of droving. Any suggestions?

Probably condensation burning off unside the exhaust. Warm up the trans and check it again. Engine running put the trans in every gear for a few seconds and then leave it runnung in Park and check the level.

Agreed. Because of the high temperatures you have day and night in Florida you'd probably not see any condensation on a daily basis, but with temperatures dropping that low it would be normal to see it.
