dog bone motor mount

What does the motor mount on top of the motor do or help with? I noticed the rubber on mine is all cracked.

It's called a torque strut mount. I couldn't give you lots of details on what it does exactly but they are cheap (got one for my 1MZ Camry for $20 shipped from Rock Auto) and VERY easy to replace.

The Dog Bone- Stops the motor from moving forward and backwards in drive or reverse.

Well put.

I installed the one I mentioned earlier in this thread on my Camry last night. Took 5 minutes (or less) with a ratchet, an extension, and a 14mm socket.
