USA P0135 code

Where exactly is the bank one sensor one located on my 2003 Toyota Avalon? I know it is near the firewall but I can't quite locate it? Anyone have any pics? Once I get it out, how do I test it to make sure it is the issue without spending over $100 for a new sensor? What is the denso sensor number for the replacement if needed? Thanks

Moved your thread over to the 2nd Gen Avalon forum so the members there can lend you a hand. You'll also want to use the forum's search feature to find any past threads discussing the P0135 trouble code.

BTW, to the nation!

Denso 234-9021 Oxygen Sensor (Air and Fuel Ratio Sensor) is the part you want. Unscrew old and insert new.

Excellent picture, made it easy to locate....Ordered the sensor today and hope to have it in by the weekend. Looks fairly simple, thanks for your help!

Way easier that I expected! $102 Denso oem through Amazon. If you can change spark plugs, you can change the rear sensor. Took about a half hour. Car has 113k miles when it went bad, so far have not had as issue with it coding again like some others have posted.

Thanks csaxon!

How hard was it to break it loose. I'm always afraid they will be "welded" in by heat and corrosion and I'll end up striping or breaking it off. Did you use anything like liquid wrench?
