115 V power outlet bulb not working

In my Toyota Avalon 2000, the bulb that comes on when the dash lights come on is not working.

Well, initially, none of them was working. I checked the fuses and stuff, discovered that the power outlet itself was working fine, took it out for further examination* and turned the little while discs with slots in them. The discs are actually bulb holders. One of the bulbs has a yellow translucent cover on it, the other one is clear. I scratched the contacts a bit, make sure the bulbs' wires made contact with the brass contacts in the switch assembly and reinserted the bulbs. The bulb showing the switch is on is now working, but the dash lights bulbs is not. Looks like latter is fused.

So, the questions is, what exact bulbs are these and where do I get them from? The bulbs quite small as compared to the ones I used in the ignition switch ring light (described in my earlier post).

Thanks.

* The power outlet switch is easy to remove. Just pry open the top of the panel that is above your knees (below the steering) and you can access the switch from there. Perhaps removing the bezel around the ignition key slot may help more. Then press the tab on its side (inside the panel) and it comes out. Then remove the white wires connectors at its back pressing the while tab and the switch is free.

Fixed.

The bulb was fused. Searching the internet yielded good info. Radio Shack sells them in pairs. #7219, Micro Lamp, described on the packet as "wire terminal base". These are rated at 12 V, 50 mA. They fit just right in the white tiny bulb holders in the power outlet switch.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting the information. I didn't even realize there was a bulb there. I plug my cell charger into the outlet all the time.

It's great when folks post the resolution of a problem to help guide the rest of us.

Thanks Again!!
