In my 2000 Avalon, there is a beep along with the one blink of the lights when I lock the door. When I unlock the doors, there are two beeps with two blinks. No horn sound though.

I am curious if this behavior can be reprogrammed to get a horn sound during locking or unlocking or both.

My 2002 also beeps. If you can turn audible signal on/off, there should be instructions in owners manual. Mine is out in parking deck, and don't have a pdf on computer, so can't check.

Redsoxer....

We have a 2001 and I remember using the owners manual to disable that feature. If I remember correctly it's related to the security feature and a red light in your dash would be blinking when you exit the car & lock the doors when set correctly.
