Indexing wiper motor to linkage

I needed to replace my 2003's wiper motor, as it was no longer parking properly. I casually disassembled the motor from the linkage, and I've done a number of times on other vehicles. But Toyota appears to have decided that index marks/keyways/etc., that positively locate the parts, are a waste. Wish I'd taken a pic before removing that nut on the motor shaft!

I've searched, and found a poster with the same problem who fixed it by logic decution. Unfortunately, one step calls for a judgment call (locate the linkage all the way left), because there is no stop when "all the way" is reached. I seem to be a spline or two off.

Does anyone have a pic of the linkage assembly, removed from car, with the motor in the stop position? There's also the winter/summer parking option, which I'm thinking needs to be stated clearly (which mode it's in). maybe no diff...I don't know.

Any help appreciated.

I tried uploading pictures, but unsuccessfully. The way I got things straight on the replacement on my Avalon was to hook up the motor to the electrical harness while it was detached from the wiper assembly, run it for a few seconds, then shut it off. That puts it in park position--the rebuilder of the motor I used stated not to do this, and the first time around, I didn't. That lead to the wipers parking in the wrong position. Put the motor into the wiper assembly with the linkage as horizontal as possible, with the 1st ball socket next to the connect point with the motor as far left as it will go. If I remember correctly, there is a spring loaded metal tab on the right hand side of the assembly that moves up or down. It's under heavy spring pressure, and whether it's up or down determines the Winter/Summer position of the blades (don't remember which position is which, though).
