USA 2001 Avalon turn signal problem

when i turn the signal to make right turn on my 2001 Avalon XL it's fine. when i turn the signal for left turn (driver side); the signal lights do not come on at all but i hear a fast clicking sound. Instead of turn the signal switch all the way (latched position) for left turn, I just hold it down just before it latched position then the signal lights come on normal. Can anyone tell me is it the faulty switch or the flasher? and is it difficult to replace the switch/flasher?

Thanks

Check and make sure that you turn signal bulbs on that side are OK; fast flashing often associated with a bulb out. It not that, more likely switch than flasher; no idea as to how hard to replace..
