High Idle

Hi Y'all,
Back again with another issue. Wife got caught in a downpour about a month ago and was forced to drive through some flooded streets before the water got too deep. It was deep enough however to leak past the door seals and soak the carpets and padding. Insurance company paid for new padding, oil change, etc., and while it was in the shop, I had the timing belt, plugs, and water pump changed. Other conditions manifested shortly thereafter with extremely low idle, check engine light (showing missing on 3 cylinders, console light inop, and sticking accelerator pedal. Finally got it back to the shop and they id'd a faulty IAC (?) and called the adjustor back out for an ammendment. He checked everything and authorized new IAC and console bulb replacement. Picked the car up a couple of hours ago and it idles extremely high, IMO. When cold, if you take your foot off the brake, idle RPM shows around 1500-1800, and you will be doing 20 -25 MPH within a few seconds. It's 89 degrees here at 8:00 PM, and it still took close to 10 minutes of driving before the idle settled down to around 1K RPM. Even then, it still seeks between 900 and 1100 RPM.
My questions are:
Is there any "physical" adjustment for the idle?
Is it possible that the computer has to go through a replacement "purge" to flush old readings before it can accurately evaluate and set the speed?
Could the O2 sensor be "fouled" by the missing and affecting the ECU settings?

Any other thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.
John
Sorry for being so longwinded....

Well, everything seems to be back to normal, enginewise. The idle corrected itself the following day and has been fine since. I guess either the computer "flushed" or whatever sensor was fouled cleaned itself up.
I have a new proble that I'll start a new thread for.
Thanks....
John
