EZ Pass Mount on 2001 Avalon

When I was going through some gates my ezpass would not be sensed on my Avalon's windshield. I suspected the angle of the Avalon's windshield was contributing to the problem as the ezpass worked ok on my 95 Camry. While in Manhattan I saw another car with the espass mounted at the bottom on windshield on the dashboard; so I tried mounting the ezpass in this position on my Avalon.
So far the my ezpass has been sensed by all gates between Maryland and NYC.

Mine's mounted up by the mirror on my '03. Never a read problem. Much more likely your tag's battery is getting old.

The angle of the thing shouldn't matter, because it's either active or passive RFID for EZ-TAGS/EZ-PASS. Put it as close as possible without obstruction. If you have the big block EZ-TAG then it's active RFID which requires batteries, but if you have a sticker-like EZ-TAG, then it is passive.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did not reply to the previous weak battery suggestion due to just receiving the ez tag block. I will test the battery if I can get to it.
