USA 2004 Avalon dash removal

Hello1 I'm a 70 year old motor head from NC...Have a 2004 Avalon and need the steps to remove dash board...Dog chewed a piece out of the top middle of the dash padded cover...Are there screws under the vent to the right of the sensor? Repair manual is rather useless and so is the one in the online library...Can one of you smart buyers of a great vehicle answer this for me?

Hi there, and welcome to Toyota Nation! I'll move your thread over to the Gen 2 Avalon forum so the members there can lend you a hand. I would have sworn we had a past thread about removing the front dash. I'll take a look in a short while, and if I find anything worthy I'll post up the link for you.

Sorry, no joy on the old thread, but I do have another suggestion for you. You might search the Gen 5/6 Camry forum for dashboard removal. Check the sticky thread section and use the search feature there, and if you don't find anything relevant you could post up a new thread there to ask (I won't consider it a double post and/or cross post......to help you out). Because the Avalon is basically a Camry on steroids, plus the fact there are so many more members/owners who have Camrys, that forum is more likely to have DIY information than the Avalon forum would.

Avalon Dash Removal

I recently removed my dashboard on my 2004 Avalon XLS with a Factory JBL sound system to replace some dash lights. If you have an XLS, I think I can coach you thru it, and help find the links where I learned how. Which vehicle do you have?

USA 2004 Avalon XL dash

Hello! Thanks for the reply...I found a PDF with Remove/Install and will include with this message...the problem is locating a replacement...Had I on EBay for $120 plus $20 shipping...However the shipping quote was incorrect and was $120! So, back to square two...I have the procedure but need a Instrument Protection Panel for the vehicle (GRAY)...Here is the link...Saailer

Saailer,

Thanks for offering up the link for the dash removal, but unfortunately in order to share it the file must be located on a file sharing server. If you don't have access to one then feel free to send me the file via e-mail and I will host it for you and post up the link to this thread. If you'd like to go that route just send me a private message and I'll provide you with my e-mail address. Thanks!

EDIT: For anyone interested in the dashboard removal instructions, please click here. On rare occasions this server can go down, so if you can't download it just give it a few minutes to a couple of hours then try again. Thanks!
