Camshaft oil control valve filter P1349, 0300, 0301, 0303, 0305

I think I've found the cause of a misfire problem on my 2000 Avalon with 216,000 miles.
The online parts catalogue shows a filter for the oil control valve. Has anyone changed that filter in the valve/
I have not removed the valve yet, so I don't know what it looks like.

Codes were 1349, 0300, 0301,0303, 0305,
Figured it was the oil control valve for the rear bank. Pulled the valve, cleaned and tested with 12V. It actuated okay, put it back in. Same problem showed up again after driving 40 miles. Got progressively worse the longer I drove and the rear bank CAT started getting really hot,.

Found another thread on here that said as the valve gets hot, the resistance values change so the valve fails when hot.

Replaced the right bank valve with new from dealer (80 bucks) and it seems to have fixed the problem. Drove it 45 miles, two ways last week with no problems.

Since the car has 217,000 miles on it, I will probable change the left bank valve as well before it fails.

Oh, never did find the filter shown in the parts diagram

I have the same issue with a Sienna, and I figured the oil control valve was the answer.

USA Same problem?

I'm getting codes P300, 301, 303, 305 and a 13xx code that I didn't write down on my 2000 Avalon with 180k miles. So I'm thinking I've got an OCV problem too. Where exactly are these valves. Anyone got any pictures or diagrams? Just spent about 3 hours replacing the Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 sensor that was indicated as malfunctioning. Took that long to get it broke loose with penetrating oil. Test drove and still getting miss and hesitation after engine warms up and then these other codes showed up. Checked with the dealer and cost $80+ but they don't stock them and I didn't know which one to order, right bank or left bank. Thanks for any help!

Found an illustration showing OCV locations in another part of the forum if anyone elses is looking for one: po300,302,304,306 and 1354 questions
I'm going to go ahead and change BOTH of mine since I have 180k I don't figure it can hurt. This also explains the valve chatter I've been hearing for some time now. Glad I found this site today....its GREAT! :-D

Yes!

Replaced both OCV today and WOW! Had 133k on it when I bought it and it didn't have near this much power. :-)))) I had already replaced the Bank 2 Sensor 1 AF couple days earlier and cleaned the MAF.

Service light stayed out most of the day then came back on. Car still running fine. Service code is 1155 and I think 0123? Latter code said something about coolant temp being too low for sensor or something to that effect. Darn I wish I had wrote it down. Anyway the car is running great, just can't get the service light to stay off.

I would say about 99% of the valve chatter is history. Still get some from time to time but NOTHING like it was doing.
