No Camry or Avalon as of 2006

Yes you heard it here first . I have very good information that these two vehicles will be replaced by an all new large sedan modelled off one of the large Lexus sedans and will be built alongsode the Kluger in Melbourne on the same chassis utilising the 3.3v6 in both .

It is going to happen. Avalon was gone anyway as it just does not sell due to styling and the Camry has a perception of being mid sized even though it is a large vehicle.

Solution.

All new large Toyota and OZ built Kluger and we will finally see that sweet 172kw 3.3 in a sedan over here

Sources? How can Toyota arbitrarily decide to kill its #1 seller? Especially with the new hybrid version coming for 06? I mean, c'mon now...

what's your source for that info?

i'll put money down you got it wrong since:

1) Camry is a world-car for Toyota and is selling well in all markets (#1 selling passenger car in North America)
2) Toyota has stated it is introducing a hybrid Camry in the 2007 model year, when the Gen 5 is discontinued and the Gen 6 comes out.

why would they eliminate not only their best selling passenger car but THE best selling passenger car, thats ludicrous.

If the head of Toyota told me that himself, I still would not believe it. I think it's impossible.

Yeah, it's not gonna happen. Both are too high selling, and too popular of names. The name alone sells it.

And if it was true, SC would have had the announcment months ago. But we don't, so I doubt it

The Camry is what got Toyota started.

They can't just discontinue it.

Maybe it will happen in Aus, but here [US] I vote no
