Question 2005 Avalon

Why is the 2005 Avalon being introduced so late (I've heard January or February), and will there be much difference from the 2004?

I've heard there is a difference in the DVD navigation system - true? How?

Thanks for any info - I personally think it is stupid of Toyota (without a decent reason - i.e. did they have major problems?) to not introduce it in the normal October time frame. We need to get a new Avalon (obviously because we really like our 2000 Avalon) because our son needs our Avalon within the next several weeks.

Is it, or is it not worth waiting for?

I still cannot believe this big secrecy bit from Toyota!!!

I read it's supposed to be introduced in the spring but I'm not sure, I think it will be worth waiting for, better looks, bigger engine, more room inside.

Thanks for the help - Toyota sure has been doing a good job of "keeping the lid on"!

Any comments about the 2004, which we found was disappointing in little ways, compared to our 2000? Apparently, 2000-03 all had dual sunvisors and a coin holder in the center glove box, but Toyota had to go and cheapen the '04 and not include either.

I'll be curious whether the '05 has these two (minor, but to me, very important) features.

The Avalon is, obviously, a great car - it's a real shame that Toyota had to cheapen the '04, esp. with the premium one is paying over the Camry.
