Question AHHH! Annoying automatic volume adjuster on radio... how to DISABLE?

My household has a 2000 Avalon XLS with a JBL sound system... when I drive and its noisy the volume will automatically go up... and when it gets quieter the radio volume lowers....

I can't even disable this through the headunit. I hate this automatic volume system. This is bothersome.... I can't listen to a song peacefully...

Any suggestions on how to disable this? Or disconnect the road sensor microphone?

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

the sensor is probably internal like the one in aftermarket headunits... are you sure theres no way to diable it though the headunit? that would be kinda stupid if you couldnt.. try glancing over the owners manual another time
