when do u change the timing belt

I have a 2000 v6 avalon with 80,000. Just bought it. Last owner said she never had the belt changed. When shoudl it be changed???? Also when do u change the water pump? thanks

right about now you should change it...70k is the reccomended time for the change, 80 is playing with fire. do a tune up then too...chances are she missed that one too. Change water pump when you need to, mine is still OEM and has almost 200,000 miles on it
