custom intake and cold air box(kinda) for under $20

CUSTOM intake and hot air block off box.

Dont do this if you want to keep your stock intake. You must remove the top of your oem airbox and cut around the intake pipe by the mas. Pretty easy, then sand it down. Buy a 15$ universal filer off ebay with a 3" end. Then attach it to the intake pipe where you cut out around the box.

Took it for a test drive for 20 miles and I coudl actually feel the power espically on the highway(Im guessing 5-6 hp). Im goona do a test on it soon to see if it incereased my gas milage alos whick Im asuming it might have a little bit.

Remember you must DESTROY your oem air box to do this. So if you dont want to cut up any stock parts dont try this.

I know not everyone will like this mod but to each there own. Im going to eventually make a cai setup but this is nice and cheap for now.

BTW,
also try to buy a filter with an air flow screen on the end (apexi style) so the stock cold air tube that attaches to the stock box shoots colder air right into it. you will see what I mean when u remove he stock air box.

I did a gas milage test. I drive 8 miles on the highway to work. I reset the avr miles per galon and averaged 30-32. Before i did the intake I was getting 26-28. Best thing I could have done to this car. Along with the very noticable power increase. I might even skip on makeing a custom cai. We will see how well it works in the hot summer weather first.
