Keyless Entry not working

Hi, on my sister's 00 Avalon.....we went out one day. and at night we tried to lock the doors but the keyless lock or unlock wouldn't work. The button to unlock the trunk in the dash does not work either. The fobs don't work at all and nothing is beeping. The lights come on and the car drives and turns on as normal. What could be the problem?

Super,
Since it is a '00, have you changed the batteries in the fob?

Super,

Yes, you can use the 10 amp fuse, but I don't reccommend it unless an emergency. It could allow the wires to over heat if there is a short somewhere, or what ever caused it to blow to start with.
Most auto shops have a packet of fuses with a fuse puller with it. I've had one in my cars for about 15 years. Thanks that I haven't needed to use a one.

Super,
I know this is an old thread, but hope you see this. I have a 99 and my keyless entry remote stopped working last week. It has a new battery in it and was working fine until now. What fuse was it that you replace? I checked all my fuses in the engine bay and driver side area and they are all good. Is there a separate fuse for the keyless unit?

The fuse i blew was a 7.5 amp fuse that was in the driver side area. The function of the fuse included the keyless remote and dome lights. It had other functions also

Super,

I'll check that fuse box again. I'm hoping mine is a bad fuse too.
