2003 Avalon has DVD Navigation? Works in 01+??

Guess I dont as much about Avalons as I thought since I found out just today that the 2003 had avaliable DVD navigation.

Does anyone have a picture of this system and know if it'll fit in 01+ models? I'd imagine it would since the dash is the same.

Strange.... in all my searches of ebay I've never seen a 03 or 04 Avalon with DVD navigation, even the "ALL OPTIONS" models.... but this review over at epinions is from a 2003 owner who says he has it and really likes it:

hahahaha! you just posted the same link.

and no, i haven't been able to find anything saying that it offers a navi, indicating that it was a dealer installed option, which explains the lack of support by TMC USA

He asked because he knew it existed for 2003 but did not know if it could be retrofitted into a 2001.

exactly

also i'd like to see a pic of it since i can't even find a picture of it. Is it a direct dash swap? there is a lot of room in our dash, especially if it used that big open space on the passenger side.

... speaking of our dash: I love it! Someone once called it a dash from Star Trek Next Generation LOL sure looks modern, even better than the 05+. Why did they go back to a old design in the newer cars??

yeah, everyone i know loves our dash (we've got an 00, type-B dash) the type-A is pretty sweet though.

i haven't been able to find pics, but i'll keep a look-out. If only i could find a copy of the parts catalog on cd, i've got one for honda's, just not toyota's

hey, just saw this

http://auto.consumerguide.com/auto/u...ex.cfm/id/2401

it doesn't hav ea pic, but that tells exactly when it became available (03, only on XLS) also has a good timetable of the avalon

EDIT: not a great picture, but this seems like it has the nav, it's tough to tell, but i think it's where the radio normally would be

more dvd navigation picture goodness:

as you can see the DVD navigation is operated by a wireless remote and I imagine the receiver is in the dash with the DVD screen.

found these over at cardomain but it doesnt show the dash much better than carpoint's pictures:

have you checked www.oemvalue.com to see about getting one or checking on fitment issues. well Nevermind jsut checked the website and they dont list Avalon as an option. THey have some that will jsut about fit any Toyota but that is not one of them. May be worth a call though jsut to ask or email them.
