In my experience around here the local cops in my town usually drive with thier radar on. it is a very strong and wide band radar that i can usually pick up a couple of hundred feet away. When i move up to some of the other towns with more money to spend and newer cars, i find that they actyakky have lazer in the front of their car. This is much harder to pick up cause i usually don't know till i get in the path of the beam. MA state troupers have a wide range Radar in the BACK of their cars so they can get u without facing u and have a very narrow (1 lane wide) radar in the front. Along with that they also have VG-2 Radar guns that are the newest form of laser guns and are next to impossible to pick up. I get fired at and a lot of the time my detector doesn't even blink. However, when i am up in VT, you will find that EVERY cop leaves their front radar on, even when they are parked and not in the car. I'll drive by the bank and my detector will go off. and sure enough, there is an empty cop car. But even the state troopers leave their radar on. It's like they want to give us a chance!
