does anybody know anything about this. when i start the avalon and it begins moving forward there is a strumming low sounding noise which gos away after a few seconds and the mechanic said its the abs breaks testing themselves?

My 2000 Avalon does the same thing. It's the ABS doing a self-check, I think it's in the manual. When all else fails...

I have a 2006 XLS Avalon and I do not hear any noise. It does not sound normal to me.

Mu 05 does it. it sounds like it is coming from the right rear and is a very soft knock type noise that last about 1 second.
It has done it from day one
