I love Toyota and Nissan... but the G35 is the better bet, if you don't mind the smaller back seat. The engine is more powerful, the curb weight and cargo space is about equal (unless you get the optional full size spare on the G... that'll take up some more of your cargo space) You have more drivetrain options on the G than the Av, 5spd auto rwd, 6spd manual rwd, or in the g35x 5spd auto AWD. The G looks more agressive and yet, at the same time, more refined than the Av. I don't really care for the new Avy's looks... it's a lot better than the previous generation, but it's still not one I'd like to drive. At least the 98's and such looked plain but decent. the new designs all remind me too much of the prius in some way or another. And the final reason... more freedom of options with the G.. if you want any of the cool new gadgets the new Avalon offers, you have to pay out the *** for the Limited trim, the gadgets aren't even availiable on the other trims.

Avalon over G35 sedan, but you could really compare the avy to a new maxima, and again like said before if you want 2 door toyota isnt for you, 2006 350z would really be nice with the new stylin' change that it has gone throught. but remember its your money we have no say on this!!
What do you guys think about the Av touring vs. Maxima SE?? Btw, is the Av SE for reals? IF so, is it going to be based off the touring version? I would assume so. I'm in need of a new vehicle and fast! Please help me decide... I'm 22yrs old Male living in L.A. I would've never thought considering an Av, just because it was known for "older folks" driving it (no pun intended), but I guess the new touring version changes it all. Thanks in adv. guys!
I have to wonder bout all this "torque steer" talk that the Maxima has gotten in recent years. They say it's because of all that power going to the front wheels. Does the new Avalon have this problem?
0-60 the max beats the avi right? Or is it a driver's race? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the toyota website demonstrates (in computerized motion) the avi beating the maxima and 300 0-60. Is it for reals or just a marketing stragety bs? Check out this link:
I know SAE has changed their way of testing the vehicles, so most HP's are dropped by 12, then why is the 2005 @ 6.1 sec and 2006 @ 6.4 with the Max? I'm confused...plz help. THANKS!

Really cannot compare these two cars. The G35 is a sport sedan where the Avalon is a full size sedan. Both are great cars and its been hard the decide which to buy.
I have decided to go with the Infiniti G35 since its basically a four door 350Z. Also there is a lot of preformance upgrades available. I also always driven RWD cars.

I would choose the Avalon over the Max. I really don't like the styling of the Max. I have driven the Altima SE-R and it had a lot of torque understeer, which I didn't like. The Avalon doesn't have this from what a remember.
