:help:
Hi all,
I got a used Avalon 05 last week and the car is great except the key fobs do not work on it. Like everyone, I thought it was a battery issue. Went to Autozone and got the batteries checked out. The FCC id of the fobs is GG43VT20T. Both the fobs had working batteries. I went in to try and program the fobs. Followed the procedure and the car went into program mode after I turned the key ON ( did not start ). Door clicked once for add. Pressed two buttons and then pressed on button. Door cicked twice meaning it was not accepted. Tried it repeatedly with rewrite mode. Did prohibit and confirmation mode and then did rewrite. Nothing. When I put it in confirmation mode, the clicks never stopped. (5 was supposed to be the max according to TSB). After none of that worked, I got the mini VI still went ahead and ordered a $25 Aftermarket keyfob that fit the car on Amazon. MVCI cable and got Techstream and tried to do the key programming. It detected that there are 0 previously programmed fobs. Asked me to to press both buttons and then one button. But it did not detect that I was doing it. None of the three fobs worked. For my car, Techstream did not have the option of diagnostics to check and see if the receiver was seeing the signals or not.
Here are my frustrations. I do think the FCC id is the right one. How do I confirm? The first time I tried manually, the receiver saw the fobs being pressed and spat out two clicks to reject the fobs. Then why did they not work with the Techstream software. The receiver reacting the first time tells me the receiver is not bad. 2 clickers are the same OEM ones and a suitable Aftermarket fob as well tells me it is not the fob. I am left dumbfounded now. Is there any way we can see if the receiver is seeing the signals?
Forgot to mention: Checked all fuses. Dome fuse and every other fuse is fine! Tried different versions of Techstream as well.
Any suggestion would be hepful guys. Thank you in advance
