I really dont know what the heck to do, has anyone else had this problem?

I'm driving a '99 Avalon, Ive searched a few websites but cant find anything that helps.. Looking forward to hear from yall to see if you can help me..

Find some place with an OBDII code reader and see what the trouble code is. AutoZone may do this for free.

Some of the older Toyota engines are known to disable the Traction control ANYTIME the check engine light goes on, its the way they are built. My Lexus does this.

I also had the trac off problem. I fould out that anytime a trouble code arises, it shuts off the trac control. Why they did that, I don't know. My error was P1410. I had a bad EGR position sensor. After I replaced it, I cleared the codes and drove it for a few days. So far, so good. Do you have a code reader? Good investment. The money I saved fixing this problem paid for the reader twice over.
BTW I have a 97 avy xls

If you have autozone around go there. They usually read the codes for free. Then post back and will help you.
