Rear Spoiler and the Third brake Light
Hey Guys,
I just had to make a comment about many posts I have read. It seems many Avalon owners who have installed the rear spoiler have had issues regarding the third brake light. What I have read, posted by many members, is that they didn't have a clue what to do with the third brake light or how to turn it off. Who wants four brake lights?
I'm in the process of installing a spoiler on my 2003 Avalon and I have found that if you buy all of the parts needed for the instalation you end up replacing the third brake light on the deck with a cover, the CHMSL cover at a cost around $20. The other part necessary for the installation is a stop lamp failure sensor.
With these items the avalon ends up with with the spoiler being the third brake light.
