Unlocking without HORN!

I have an '08 Avalon Touring model and am having difficulty in a noise sensitive area with the horn going off when unlocking/locking the doors. Also, sometimes I get a nice, non-ear drum shattering sound once in a while but haven't been able to trace how to get that every time. My Sienna does not have the HONKING issue. Is there a way to set this so that my neighbors don't have to be awakened? I do have the alarm and that has created some issues as well. Any guidance would be great as I can't find it in my manual and the first dealer I spoke with just said we could lower the honking level a bit.

I know the acceptable "beep" is there. I just need some guidance on how to get it every time. Thanks for any insight folks might provide.

Your car shouldn’t be doing that. Factory settings for the “wireless door lock control system” link a buzzer circuit (buzzer sound) and NOT the horn circuit.

Take the car back to the dealer and ask them to reset that option (open/close door) back to factory settings, which is having a low-volume buzzer sound when locking/unlocking the doors. You could easily make this change IF you have Toyota's Techstream software and related hardware; otherwise, dealer seems to be the only safe option.
