Question Soft Paint on my 2007 Avalon

After 1 year of driving this car, my only real complaint is the paint work. I had a lot of pitting primarily on my hood....I've never owned a car that had this much problem...I've gone back to the dealer but, of course, that went no where.....so much for customer sat....Anybody else out there with a similar problem and some guidance?

Thanks,
Sam

Soft paint dents, it doesn't chip.

Don't follow trucks so close.

I've noticed the same on mine. I've put about 35,000 miles on mine in the past 18-months and the leading edge of the hood and the bumper cover is pretty well pitted. I would agree that the paint does chip fairly easily. The Avalon looks much worse now than either of my trucks did at 100,000+ miles and the same things to be said in comparison with my 40,000 mile Mustang.

But I still love the Avy!

...and it has absolutely zip to do with following trucks too closely... (I follow them just as closely in other cars)

Tom,

Exactly my thoughts...I've had lots of cars and driven lots of miles behind trucks but I've never had a car pit down to the metal like this one. The clearcoat should provide a lot more protection than I'm seeing....maybe we both received Friday hoods...I should not see this kind of pitting after 1 yr...

I'm was curious to hear if there were others with similar observations.

Thanks,
Sam

Paint Work

I too have had paint issues on my 05 Limited. I had two spots on the lower front quarter panels that blistered and peeled. Both were fixed, but both should not have happened on a new car.
