2009 Avalon

Has anyone heard when the 2009 Avalon is coming out and what's different about it compared to the '08 model? I did a quick search here but didn't find too much.

I'm replacing my '89 Camry and have my heart set on the Avalon.

Thanks!

I guess that active headrest is the big news for '09.

What was on the touring model? Was it a more "sporty" version?

I believe they called it a Sports Tuned model. I hear they will be out late Sept. or October.

Touring is definitely gone. Haven't heard when the '09's will be on the lots, but given minor changes, finding a '08 with the VSC/TRAC option shoud be a good deal right now, what with year-end discounts.

VSC and TRAC will be standard across all trims, were previously $750 option. Also, driver and front passenger active headrests, and a satellite radio ready color-keyed SDARS antenna and prewire.

Does anyone know where to get the new SDARS antenna? I'd like to replace my 2007 trunk mount. Is it just part of the fit kit, as was the old antenna? Thanks.

It never did make sense to me why they offered 4 versions of the Avalon since 05.
