I found the thread that showed how to replace the cabin air filter but I am having no luck finding the filter itself online. Can someone point me in the right direction or tell me if buying the Toyota part from the dealer is the best way to go.
Thanks

Thanks for the tip, FreeYellow. I bought a 20 x 25 x 1 Filtrete on sale at my local Ace Hardware for 10 bucks. Got six cabin filters out of it by the time I finished cutting and taping. I cut the filter to the size needed, duct taped all sides and slid it into the filter box. There might be a minor lessening of the airflow as the tape ovelapped a bit but I can fix that if it's noticeable. Saved a bunch of dough and it works great!
1) anyone actually know the part number for this 05+ cabin filter
I went online and some sellers show 87139-YZZ10, others use 87139-07010/60
Look pretty much the same.
2) I checked the one I have in my 06, no number but it looks grey. I was like, wow, that's dirty. Then I learned there is something call Carbon Charcoal. So the OEM filter is not white? I am confused
The number that should be used is a 87139-YZZ08. It is not a charcoal filter but a standard filter. $20 LIST
You can use 87139-YZZ10 and that will be a charcoal filter. Toyota Dealers do not usually stock this one but it's a common lexus filter. $35 list

FYI, I sell Genuine Toyota OEM parts to TN members for 30% off MSRP and I only charge actual shipping costs plus $1.00 - $2.00 for materials, etc. Should you have any questions, or need anything, even if it isn't parts related, don't hesitate to contact me.

So can you clarify the correct part number (cabin air filter) for an 06 limited Avalon?
I stock both, I have one SA who he and his customers swear by.
87139-YZZ08 is the standard $20.00 one, and the 87139-YZZ10 is the $35.00 upgraded one. If you are a smoker or have allergies, use the YZZ10, if not, I'd go with the YZZ08. My wife has bad allergies, so I use the upgraded one on our Sienna, but on my Camry, I don't.

I just received two of the upgrade charcoal filters from Gary (toyopartsman). Very easy transaction and they came quick. I already installed one; my stepdaughter who has constant sniffles from allergies will be pleased. Thank you Gary.
