I am no longer dead in the water!

Just to give everyone an update. I picked up my 05 LTD yesterday after having been through that repeated no starting /VSC fiasco(see previous post named dead in the water). My car is back to normal but that hurt a bunch as I expected greater reliabiltity from Toyota. They ended up replacing the drivers side junction box(fuse box under the dash). It is a pretty hefty piece if I say so myself. I would never have guessed that it was so heavy and had as many connections as it did. Im betting that there is a computer or two in there as well. Thanx for all of your help thus far. I just pray that it does not happen to anyone else, as Toyota parts are pricey. I will keep an eye on this quite closely.

Good to hear you got the car back running. Was this not a warranty coverage?

Mike my car has long since seen its warranty coverage end. Quietly as kept, I can assure you that I am in the top 5 when it comes to mileage for a Gen 3 Avalon. At least on this site anyways. It would have been nice to have Toyota Pick up the tab. Then again thats the reason that we all bought Toyotas in the 1st place, as we know that they hold up extremely well.

Sorry Mike, but you have some driving to do if you want to catch me. I am currently sitting at 113k. I am not the type of individual that rents a car for a road trip. All in all, the only things that have needed attention thus far have been the battery(105k- quite good actually), the exhaust TSB, Tranny ECU reprogramming(reflash) and that drivers side junction(fuse) box.
